Navigation

To navigate throughout the GasPriceWatch.com web site, simply move your mouse over the link to the section that you wish to open and click your left mouse button. Links are any text that is underlined or, when moused over, turns the mouse pointer to a hand. 

Search Functions

To begin a search, click on the "Search Gas Prices" text in the site header. A new page will appear that allows you to enter the appropriate search data. Searches are generated by entering text-specific data into the appropriate fields. The text fields that can have data entered into them are surrounded by black borders and, when you click in them, a flashing text prompt appears. After entering your search criteria, click on the "Submit" button and your results will soon appear.

Entering Data

To enter new data into the GasPriceWatch.com web site, click on the "Zip Search" text in the site navigation menu. A new page will appear prompting you to enter the data to find the gas stations that you wish to update. Follow the instructions for performing a search to find the stations that you have collected the current gas prices from. Remember, the data listed in GasPriceWatch.com is based only on 87 octane gasoline. NOTE: Some stations have 86 octane listed as their lowest price. After the list of stations appears, check the boxes to the left of the stations that you wish to update. Enter your log-in and personal password in the text boxes below the list of stations and click on the "Update" button. A new page will appear that allows you to enter the prices for the stations that you have selected. After entering the prices, click on the "Update" button to finish the process. NOTE: Prices must be entered in a three digit format, not including the tenth of a cent number. Please enter 1.59, not 1.599.

Becoming a "Spotter"

To become a spotter, click on the "Become A Spotter" text in the site header. A new page will open allowing you to enter all of youe contact information. Select a personal log-in ID that is easy to remember. Next select and enter a personal password. You need to enter the password twice in order for the site to confirm your selection. Do not share your ID and password with anyone. After you have entered all of your data, click on the "Submit" button to finish. If you have not entered any data in a required field, you will be prompted to re-enter your data. Your personal information is not shared or sold to anyone by GasPriceWatch.com. Make sure that you are accurate in entering your data. GasPriceWatch.com assigns points to each spotter for each approved update. Prizes may be awarded at a later time by GasPriceWatch.com for the spotter with the most points.

Browser Settings

To view the GasPriceWatch.com web site properly, make sure that you are using IE 4.0 or Netscape 4.0 or higher. You must have JAVASCRIPT enabled on your browser.
